BlindMail

BlindMail is a simple script that gives you a password-protected web interface from which to write text or HTML emails.

A beta of version 1.25 is available here. Its improvements allow better sending, faster execution, better cross-browser compatibility, and better support for different server configurations. Please give feedback on how it works for you.

This script is especially useful when you want to send from an account for which a mail client isn't available or when you want to be able to write straight HTML for your email rather than using the WYSIWYG rich-text interface on your mail client. BlindMail (zip) || Blindmail (txt) (now in version 1.00) is a snap to install on 'nix systems. The only config you need to do is:

  • Make sure the path to perl is correct (default is #!/usr/bin/perl;)
  • Make sure the path to sendmail (or qmail) is correct
  • chmod the script to 755
  • Password protect according to your tastes (.htaccess suggested)

For security reasons, I do not make a live version of this script available. I do offer screenshots though.
